We’re all about water! Dive into River Alive!, a new exhibit that brings the wildlife, science, and wonder of the Delaware River up close.
Raise the sails on our pirate ship Diligence and submerge yourself in hands-on exhibits plus one of the largest maritime art and artifact collections in North America. Climb aboard National Historic Landmark ships Cruiser Olympia and Submarine Becuna. Paddle around in our seasonal small boat rentals.
Visit our Workshop on the Water and Makerspace to bring out your inner artisan. With so much to explore, Independence Seaport Museum is the premier, family-friendly destination on the Penn’s Landing waterfront.
Our expanded operating schedule will be:
Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays: 10:00am – 5:00pm
Sundays: 12:00pm – 5:00pm
• Our timed ticketing system will remain in place, with tickets being sold every 30 minutes. It is highly encouraged for guests to purchase their tickets in advance of their visit.
• While visitors will be able to access the Museum and National Historic Landmark ship Cruiser Olympia, Submarine Becuna remains closed at this time for the safety of visitors and staff
The Museum has made the following operational changes:
• All staff will certify to health checks daily
• All staff will be required to wear a face mask
• ISM’s Public Engagement staff members will be wearing gloves during all transactions
• Plastic partitions have been installed at all points of sale
• Our daily cleaning schedule has been increased
• Additional hand sanitizer stations have been installed in high volume areas
• Components of exhibits have been modified or removed based on levels of interactivity
ISM is asking visitors to following the following policies:
• A face mask is required to be worn at all times inside the Museum as well as onboard Cruiser Olympia
• We highly encourage visitors to use hand sanitizer after interacting with an exhibit
• We highly encourage visitors to follow social distancing guidelines while in the Museum and to keep 6 feet away from other guests
• After using the restroom we encourage guests to wash their hands for the recommended 20 seconds
• If potential visitors (or anyone in their party) have symptoms that are outlined by the CDC or if they have knowingly come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 we ask that they do not visit the Museum for fourteen (14) days.
By visiting Independence Seaport Museum the guest voluntarily assumes all risks related to potential exposure to COVID-19 in or about Independence Seaport Museum. The Museum has modified its experience to adhere to safety guidelines and protocol.
Additionally, Independence Seaport Museum has moved to a time ticketing system, where a limited number of tickets will be sold every half hour. While guests who purchase tickets through our ticket partners (or have a specialized rate) are not required to reserve tickets in advance, please note that if guests come in with vouchers they may not be able to enter the Museum at their desired time and need to wait until the next available time slot. We will make every attempt to accommodate guests in a timely fashion.
