The first thing you'll notice at de Young is that the building is made of natural materials such as copper, stone, wood, and glass which blends easily into the lush, enchanting landscaping.
The focus of this museum is on American art, international textile arts and costumes, and art of the ancient Americas, Oceania and Africa. You'll see pottery, sculpture, Navajo art, and multimedia collections. The contemporary art exhibit is a must-see, featuring glass works by Dale Chihuly, woodworking by Sam Maloof, and so much more!
