Staten Island Museum

Founded in 1881 to encourage enquiring minds to explore the connections between history, art and natural science, it’s now New York’s only surviving general interest museum. In the 21st century, its extraordinary collections have grown to include over 500,000 specimens from nature, paintings and sculptures as well as thousands of other artifacts and documents.

Today, the museum is part of a thriving cultural complex at Snug Harbor and uses the power of multimedia and interactive displays to deliver its original aim and satisfy the curiosity of its visitors of all ages.
