The Jewish community has a long and colorful history in the United States, making New York the ideal city to house this unique and impressive collection.
Founded in 1904, making it the first institution of its kind in the United States, this museum celebrates 4000 years of Jewish culture and way of life. It maintains a unique collection of around 30,000 works of art, ceremonial objects and records to help everyone from all walks of life understand what it means to be Jewish. At the venue’s heart is an exhibition over three floors dedicated to the memory of the darkest days of the 20th century: Holocaust. First-person testimony and personal belongings from those who survived against all the odds contribute to an immensely powerful and emotional presentation.
