Banqueting House

After a fire destroyed the other structures in 1960’s, Banqueting house is the only standing remains of King Henry VIII’s Palace of Whitehall.

Arguably the most significant moment of English history was the execution of King Charles I in 1649, which took place in the Palace of Whitehall.

Discover the events leading up to this moment in the very place where history happened. In more exuberant times, this was a place where courtiers danced, drank and partied beneath the breath-taking 17th Rubens ceiling paintings.

Part of the Central London Royal Pass.
